THE PROBLEM

You plan your trips around the trail.
Your lodging should too.

You drive hours to reach world-class trails, only to stay in places designed for someone else. Cramped Airbnbs with nowhere to wash gear. Hotels 30 minutes from the trailhead. "Glamping" that treats the outdoors like a backdrop instead of the whole point.

There's no lodging built for how you actually travel

No gear infrastructure

Muddy bikes on the deck. Dirty ropes slung over chairs. Wet gear in the trunk. No wash station. No storage. Every stay is an improvised gear room.

Same mountains, less crowds

Foresthill has world-class trails, granite, and whitewater without the Tahoe traffic, the endless lines, or the $15 smoothie.

Recovery is an afterthought

After miles of trail or a full day on rock, you want a clean sauna and cold plunge, not a shared hot tub with other sweaty guests

THE STAY

Designed Around the Way You Move

Integrated Gear Systems

Perforated steel mount walls for bikes, packs, and ropes. Lockable gear capsule with conditioned storage tunnel. Exterior wash station and rinse shower — mud stays outside, gear stays organized.

Private Sauna + Cold Plunge

Your own ensuite wood-burning or electric sauna with an outdoor cold plunge and change area. Contrast therapy steps from your door. No shared spa, no schedule.

Modular Cabin Design

Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. Kitchenette with induction cooktop. Terrazzo-tiled walk-in shower. Queen bed with exposed timber rafters. Work nook. Every detail considered.

Rooftop Deck

Floating thermal spruce deck with ladder access. Coffee at sunrise. Stars at midnight. The Sierras stretched out in front of you.

Communal Spaces

Central fire pit. Outdoor kitchen with grills and pizza oven. Post-ride, run, or climb, this is where the stories happen.

WHO WE ARE

Built by Athletes, For Athletes

We're YJ and Tyler — trail runners, mountain bikers, and climbers who got tired of staying in places that weren't built for people like us. So we're building the place we've always wanted to stay.

37 acres in Foresthill. Ten cabins to start. Every detail designed around gear, recovery, and community. We're building this in public and bringing our founding members along for the ride.

Land & Operations

"Having built a hospitality bootstrap from scratch, I know how hard it is for founders to go from inception to launch in the physical space, especially coming from digital. YJ understands this better than most, he gets the details... the funnel, the marketing, the branding, the positioning, the space creation. I'm excited for this next chapter for him and Foresthill."

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked

What does "Founding Member" mean?

Founding Members are our earliest supporters. You'll get exclusive early-bird pricing, first access to book stays, and behind-the-scenes updates as we build. Signing up is completely free — you're simply reserving your spot at the front of the line.

When will Foresthill Basecamp open?

We're currently in the permitting and pre-development phase with Placer County. Phase 1 (10 cabins) is targeted for completion by Spring 2027. Founding Members will be the first to know exact dates and get first booking priority.

Where exactly is the property?

We're on 37 acres in Foresthill, California — in Placer County along the Sierra Nevada foothills. That's about 45 minutes from Sacramento, 2.5 hours from San Francisco, and directly adjacent to the trail networks that host the Western States, 10 minutes away from the Foresthill aid station.

What are the cabins like?

We are proudly parterning with Elmntl to bring modern yet rugged cabins to the Basecamp. Panoramic windows, kitchenette, terrazzo bathroom, queen bed, and work nook. You'll be able to take care of your gear just as well as your mind and body.

Is this just glamping?

Not quite. Most glamping is designed for relaxation with nature as a backdrop. Foresthill Basecamp is designed for athletes who travel to move — the cabins, amenities, and location are all oriented around adventure access, gear management, and recovery.

How much will a stay cost?

Pricing is still being finalized, but expect rates in the premium glamping range. Founding Members will be first to see pricing and get priority booking access when reservations open.
